NorCal CPR Training Class Public/ Workplace

If you aren’t a medical professional, you might assume that you will never need to give emergency medical care to anyone. After all, that is what EMTs and doctors do, right? Beyond putting on band aids and knowing when to take someone to the emergency room, what medical knowledge do you, as a member of the general public, really need to have?

The truth is that everyone should know how to give emergency medical care. Many people who are not medical professionals save lives every year by performing CPR on people who are experiencing medical emergencies.

CPR might seem like a complicated and intimidating thing to learn, but it actually isn’t.

You don’t need to be particularly strong to do CPR. You don’t need to remember a ton of steps. The instructions are actually very simple and there is little to no upper body strength required. CPR actually uses your body weight instead of your muscle strength to keep the victim’s heart pumping until help arrives. We will teach you how to identify a situation in which someone needs CPR, how to do CPR on adults, children, and infants, and how to handle common medical emergencies such as choking.

At NorCal Emergency Medical Training, we offer First Aid training and blood borne pathogens training as well so that you can help keep yourself and those around you safe. These skills do not negate the need for qualified medical treatment during an emergency, but they can help to improve outcomes and keep people safe in medical emergencies until they can get qualified medical treatment.

Many jobs also require you to have a CPR certification.

If you take care of children or are responsible for any person’s well being at any time in your job, you probably need to be certified in some sort of life-saving technique such as CPR. At NorCal Emergency Medical Training, we offer these classes online and at our convenient locations in Sacramento, Roseville, and Rancho Cordova.
